NEW! Sangeetham - A Journey into the Musical Heritage of India 
 
As a 2010 Artist grant awardee from Saratoga Arts and NYSCA, Vidya will embark on this exciting journey to educate and engage local communities in the 3000 year old tradition of Carnatic vocal music. To learn more about the Saratoga Program for Arts Funding, click here.
 
Sangeetham is an exciting three-part project which will involve the following milestones -

Part I – Creation of two new musical compositions by the artist.

Part II – A free training course to interested community members.

Part III - Shows in Saratoga County locations: Each show to include lecture by artist and recital by artist and trainees, including children.

A 6 session Training Course:

Location: Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public library (Piracci Board Room, 1st floor),

475 Moe Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065

 

Prior musical training is not required. Attendees will be invited to participate in optional singing training at the end of each session. Pre-register to get your copy of course material and training audio CD. To register for one or multiple sessions, call Vidya at 373-9037 or email her at ksubramanian@nycap.rr.com. This program is open to adults and children aged 10 and above. Attendees may register for one or multiple sessions. Although every session will  be taught as an independent module, attendance at all sessions is highly recommended.
